Operation Manager

Job Purpose:

The Operation Manager (OM) is responsible for directing, supervising and inspecting the operations at the Kallang Water Sports Centre/ Macritchie Reservoir or other operation outlets as required. Ensure safe and efficient operations and serve as the Federation’s representative on regulatory issues. Lead the Events teams and oversee all services pertaining to events planning, coordination and execution for the Federation

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

The role will cover six key areas of the organization –
1. Operation Management
2. Event Management
3. Budgeting
4. Administrative and other matters

Requirement:

Educational background and professional knowledge Requirements:

  • Preferred a Bachelor’s degree, excellent verbal and written skill
  • Excellent planning, organisational and budgetary skills and the ability to prioritise appropriately to meet deadlines

Working Experience Requirements:

3 – 5 years related experience, preferably in a management position in the outdoor recreation industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Skill and Other Requirements:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, respect, and show an ability to handle pressure and stress in an appropriate manner
  • Willingness to assist the team and the Federation as needed and when required
  • Possess class of Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL), First Aid Course & Class 3 Driving License

High Performance Manager

Job Purpose:

The High Performance Manager (HPM) is responsible for the management and operation of the High Performance (HP). He/she oversees and maintains the development and implementation of a comprehensive athlete development system, which includes: national team HP programmes (all relevant disciplines) and their developmental pathways, national coaching staff liaison, anti-doping programme, officiating development, athlete assistance and support, HP and technical liaison for major games and competitions.

The HPM reports directly to the General Manager of the Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF). He/she monitors and provides support to the coaches. For all decisions pertaining to planning and execution of HP programmes and pathways, the HPM would need to seek approval from the HP committee.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

The role will cover six key areas of the organization –
1. HP Planning and Management
2. Budgeting
3. Programme Management
4. Sport Medicine/ Sport Science Support
5. Athlete Management
6. Policies and Committees

Requirement:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification – Degree in Sport Science, Management or similar
  • Prior experience in Sport Performance Management will be an advantage
  • Possess leadership ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisational and time management skills.

National Head Coach (Canoe Sprint – Canadian Canoe)

Job Purpose:

The National Head Coach (Canoe Sprint – Canadian Canoe) will work under the direction of the High Performance Committees to oversee with planning, coaching and monitoring of the National Canoe Sprint  – Canoe Senior and Junior Team.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coaching the National Canoe Sprint – Canoe Senior and Junior Team
  • Develop, implement and supervise well-structured training programmes and talent development plan.
  • Provide regular technical feedback and advice to the athletes.
  • Provide pre-race and post-race feedback to the athletes and the High Performance Committees.
  • Supervision of the athletes participating in international championships and overseas competitions.
  • Manage the selection process of athletes for major games and for entry into the national team.
  • Oversee the training & competition aspects of other Canadian Canoe disciplines & teams when required.
  • Work closely with the Singapore Sport Institute (SSI) and National Youth Sport Institute (NYSI) to contribute to the High Performance programme and the creation of a pool of knowledge and practice for the benefit of Canoe Sprint in Singapore.
  • Remain up-to-date with new technical developments and advise on implementation.
  • Participate in all team activities and meeting when required.
  • Provide a report on all overseas training and competition trips.

Requirement:

Educational background and professional knowledge Requirements

  • Specialized in planning and coaching of Canadian Canoe discipline at both Senior & Junior levels
  • Relevant international or national coaching certifications
  • Previous experience competing at or coaching at World Championships, Junior World Championships, and/or World Cups

Working Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years coaching experience at an elite level

Assistant National Youth Development Coach (Canoe Sprint – Kayak)

Job Purpose:

The Assistant National Youth Development Coach will work under the direction of the National Head Coach for Youth Development (Canoe Sprint – Kayak) and the High Performance Committee to assist with planning, coaching and monitoring of the National Canoe Sprint – Kayak Youth Development Team.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the National Head Coach for Youth Development (Canoe Sprint – Kayak) in coaching the National Canoe Sprint
  • Kayak Youth Development Team.
  • Develop, implement and supervise well-structured training programmes and talent development plan.
  • Provide regular technical feedback and advice to the athletes.
  • Provide pre-race and post-race feedback to the National Head Coach for Youth Development (Canoe Sprint – Kayak), the athletes, and the High Performance Committee.

Operations Executive

Job Details:

  • Singapore Canoe Federation Outlet Duty as required on weekdays and weekend / public holidays.
  • Support operation related activities at the NSA Office / Kallang Water Sports Centre/ MacRitchie Reservoir or other venue operation as required.
  • Facilitate in event management for all Singapore Canoe Federation events, such as annual national championships. This will include the pre-event preparations and post-event closing activities.
  • Facility Management and coordination with vendors/suppliers for goods and services where required for events or daily business activities in terms of equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Handling of administration needs of all vessel permit application and processes.
  • Communicate with all affiliated members and handle all matters relating to boat storage facilities.
  • Ground operation activities at venue or outlet where required to support the operation on daily business or during events.
  • Support canoeing activities organized/supported by the Singapore Canoe Federation.
  • Other duties as required by operations of Singapore Canoe Federation.

Requirement:

  • IT capable and comfortable with PowerPoint / Excel / Word.

Operations Assistant (Part Time)

Job Details: 

  • Singapore Canoe Federation Outlet Duty as required on weekdays and weekend / public holidays.
  • Assist in the ground operation activities at MacRitchie or Marina Reservoirs.
  • To carry out regular safety checks ensuring that all paddlers comply with the rules and regulations for water activities. 
  • To handle public boat rental services.
  • Facilitate in event management for all Singapore Canoe Federation events, such as annual national championships. 

Requirement:

  • Willing to work long hours, weekends and Public Holiday  
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to commit with the work schedule given. 
  • Possess class of Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL) or First Aid Course is an added advantage.
