The Singapore Canoe Federation is proud to present the inaugural 2016 National Canoe Slalom Championships. As part of the continued promotion of Canoeing, the SCF is expanding its focus to the Olympic discipline of Canoe Slalom.

The Nation was first introduced to this at the Singapore Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Since then, the squad has grown and represented the state in various competitions.

Canoe Slalom is by far the most technical of the Canoeing disciplines and is competed in the Canoe (C) and Kayak (K) categories. Working with partners like the National Cadet Corp, the SCF has had the ability to promote the discipline and outreach to some 17 schools. The top 10 schools at the upcoming National Cadet Corp Kayak Championships will qualify for the National Competition within their age category.

The event will cater to all paddling enthusiasts with fun categories for the uninitiated and elite categories for those wanting to showcase their skills.
