SCF Paracanoe Programme

The SCF champions the development and enjoyment by the public of all canoeing disciplines in Singapore. In 2014, the SCF broke new ground by introducing paracanoe as a canoeing discipline to allow people with disabilities to enjoy the sport.

The SCF Paracanoe programme is currently held every Saturday from 3-6pm at MacRitchie Reservoir. This is a free programme with limited vacancies that is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about bringing canoeing to those with various forms of disabilities.

The SCF Paracanoe programme co-exists with other paracanoe programmes with particular areas of focus, as outlined further below.

Para Sport Academy

On 10 March 2022, the creation of a new Para Sport Academy was announced in Parliament. Intended to be an enabling platform through which more persons with disabilities can build their self-confidence and reach their fullest potential and form a new generation of para-athletes who will go on to represent Singapore, the Para Sport Academy, which is run by ActiveSG, will have paracanoe as one of its disciplines.

In line with current rules set by the International Canoe Federation for paracanoe, the Para Sport Academy’s paid paracanoe programme, run every Sunday from 9 - 11am at Marina Reservoir, accepts only persons with lower limb impairment.

Interested participants may sign up directly through the ActiveSG Canoe Academy here.
